About Us

Our Mission

We strive to build supportive relationships with our patients and provide the exceptional care that keeps them smiling for a lifetime. In addition to the latest technology, we also invest in continuing education for our team, so we can ensure that we’re at the forefront of modern dental care and can give you the kind of treatment you can trust. At Glen Valley Dentistry, we offer truly personalized, comprehensive care in a comfortable environment. You’ve found your dental home.

Dr. Shaun Williams

Dr. Williams was born and raised in the Kalamazoo Michigan area.  He attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate degree before attending University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, graduating in 2007.  He worked as an associate in Lansing, MI before joining Glen Valley Dentistry in 2010.  He became a partner with GVD in 2012 and sole owner in 2016.  He has taken extensive continuing education and is a graduate member of the renowned Kois Center for dental education in Seattle, WA.

He is passionate about building relationships with his patients, helping to identify any issues they are having, and providing the best leading comprehensive care possible.  While he enjoys many aspects of his job, he particularly likes placing and restoring dental implants, rehabilitating patients’ occlusion (bites), and cosmetic dentistry.  What Dr. Williams loves most dentistry is restoring a patient’s self-confidence and helping them feel better physically.  Seeing the positive impact this can have on someone’s life is very rewarding to him.

Dr. Williams lives in Caledonia with his wife Allison and three sons Bennett, Sully, and AJ.  He enjoys spending time outdoors, golfing, hunting, and playing sports with his boys.

Dr. Charles Wenzel

Dr. Charles Wenzel is originally from Frankenmuth, Michigan.  He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) in 2014, where he majored in Neuroscience.  He then went on to attend Marquette University in Wisconsin, graduating with a doctorate of dental surgery in 2018.  He has been an associate at Glen Valley Dentistry since 2018.

Dr. Wenzel enjoys being a dentist because it gives him the opportunity to get to know his patients and build lasting relationships that grow over time.  It is a huge honor for him to be able to help a patient improve their smile, oral health, and their life.  One of his favorite things about working at GVD is the advanced technology, such as the Cerec milling machine, giving him the ability to do same-day crowns and larger restorations.

While not in the office, he really enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants in the area, and staying active in the gym.  He also loves to attend as many U of M football games as possible.

How To Prepare For Your Visit

We love meeting new patients, and we love making dental care easy. That’s why we provide you with access to all of your new patient forms so you can fill them out at your convenience, and cut down on your wait time when you arrive.

In order to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, and in adherence to CDC and OSHA guidelines, we ask that you call us at (616) 891-8931 when you arrive so we can let you know if the office is at capacity or if you may enter, as well as provide you with our most up-to-date health and safety policies. We also request that you wear a mask once inside.

In order to make the check-in process quick and easy we ask that you have your dental insurance card ready upon arrival.

Advanced Technology

By keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in dentistry, we’re able to maximize our treatment capabilities and provide efficient, effective care to all of our patients. With digital imaging devices, like our CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) scanner, we’re able to create crisp, detailed images of your teeth, gums, and their underlying structures to make more accurate diagnoses and quickly decide on the best possible treatment. These images allow us to see the smallest details, aiding us in catching potential problems before they become a more painful, and expensive, issue. Our office is even equipped to craft CEREC crowns in a single visit, and our imaging tech will ensure a great fit. We’re also able to create cosmetic mockups to show you the results of your procedures before we even begin.

Providing Dental Care For Those In Need

We work with Dental Lifeline Networks (DLN) through their flagship Donated Dental Services program to provide access to dental care for those with various factors in their lives keeping them from getting the care they need. Through DLN’s program, we’re able to provide quality treatment to people with permanent disabilities, as well as those who are elderly or otherwise medically fragile. For every patient, we create a customized treatment plan that addresses all of their needs, allowing them the chance at the healthy smile they deserve.
